Liverpool Next Generation Optical Microscopy Launch

The Centre for Cell Imaging is currently being re-organised with the installation of a new Zeiss confocal microscope lsm780 with a PicoQuant Fluorescence life time imaging attachment.  Life time measurements can be used for quantitative FRET, e.g. protein-protein interactions, and for environmental sensors.  The new microscope will also enable Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy for the measurement of diffusion time; i.e. protein complex formation. In addition, the CCI has also acquired a new epi-fluorescence microscope Axiovert Z1 equipped with a fast and sensitive camera.
